    NOTICE BOARD
Welcome to Learning State
Pride in Public Service.

Whaia te iti kahurangi. Ki te tuohu koe, me he maunga teitei.

Pursue excellence. Should you stumble, let it be to a lofty mountain.

Learning State’s role is to develop the skills of employees in local and central government, and the rest of the public sector. We work with our sector meeting the challenges of delivering excellent and cost-effective services to the public around New Zealand.

We offer a seamless and collaborative service. We work with organisations and employees to identify existing and anticipated skills gaps, and then tailor and implement relevant, high quality and cost-effective workplace learning programmes to fill them. We support our learners and employers through the process and celebrate their success in our end of year graduation ceremonies.

Our programmes lead to globally-recognised qualifications, developed in collaboration with the sector, and registered on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. They’re designed to link in with other workplace learning and qualifications – ideal for those wishing to sharpen their skills and forge a career in the sector.

We cover the common activities the sector shares, such as business administration, compliance, dispute resolution, customer service and core public service skills. We also cater for the diverse, with specialist programmes on animal control, liquor licensing, parking enforcement, rates management and more.

The workplace is our lecture room. Learners build their skills and expertise on the job, through a mix of work-based assignments, coaching and mentoring, as well as workshops and some self-directed study.

So why wait – now’s the time to meet the challenge, sign on and make the public service you provide something to be truly proud of.
